We are a boutique recruitment consultancy specialising in the Building Services Engineering sector.
We approach things differently, preferring to take an individual and consultative approach to recruitment, focusing on honest, long-term partnerships over one-off transactions. We believe that to make the best connections, we must first take the time to understand the goals, ambitions, and engineering skills of the candidates that we support, whilst simultaneously getting to know the engineering firms that we represent.
This indvidualised approach has allowed us to connect thousands of talented Building Services Engineers from across the world with the best design consultancies, contractors, and client-side entities that Australia has to offer.
Having recruited in Australia’s Building Services sector for well over a decade, we have built an intimate understanding of the market, and just what it takes to find the engineering talent of tomorrow.
Having spent this time consulting with and advising Building Services Engineers at all stages of their career and playing an active role in industry associates such as the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), we have cultivated a global network of tens of thousands of active and passive candidates.
When you partner with us, you get access to this network, along with our industry knowledge, helping you to build a team of talented experts to bring your clients’ projects to life.
We know that your career is individual to you and that no two opportunities are the same which is why take a consultative approach to recruitment. After spending time getting to know you, we will work with you to find an engineering job that fits your professional and personal goals and ambitions so that you can focus on building your future.

As a building services engineer, there is potential to gain experience and move into either technical, project or team leadership within a consultancy environment, step sideways into a contractor or take the leap into client-side project management, advisory or even development
Once you are fully qualified, you could apply for chartered status at the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or another construction engineering institution licensed by the Engineering Council. This would improve your job prospects and help you progress in your career. You could also apply for NER (National Engineering Register) or other discipline specific accreditations such as FPAS, C10, C14 and Class 2.
We have over 15 years of combined experience in recruiting within Australia’s building services engineering sector, building our network, and conducting the research for you. Our network ranges from boutique building services design consultancies, to national tier 2’s and global tier 1 multi disciplinaries. It also extends to subcontractors, builders, developers, and client-side consultancies. We’ve spent our time getting to know these companies, inside out and out; their strengths, weaknesses, project portfolios, working cultures, development opportunities, working from home policies, when they recruit and what type of engineers they typically recruit for.
When you come to us, we take similar care in getting to know you as an engineer. Your career plans and what you want to achieve, your goals and ambitions, and what drives you. We listen to the type of employer you want to work for, the leader you want to mentor you, the types of projects you want to work.
From here, we use our ‘research’, and industry knowledge to advise companies that we recommend you meet with. Utilising our network, we’ll reach out to these companies in a confidential manner, with a view of setting up an initial introductory chat. And then the fun begins. We’ll guide you through the interview process, giving you tips and recommendations along the way, and when it comes to it, negotiate the best possible package for you. Should you find a position that suits you, we’ll guide you through the resignation and subsequent onboarding process.
We’ll then be on throughout your career, acting as your eyes and ears on the market, and been on hand to offer advice around how to continue to build on your career.
Over 90% of the building services jobs that we place candidates in aren’t active jobs and are ‘off-market’. Our client is always looking for good engineers and using our market knowledge, we’ll make introductions to potential employers that align with your goals and ambitions, not just live jobs.
No, we also recruit for building services subcontractors, builders, developers, and client-side consultancies. If you are looking for a potential transition to another side of the industry, we can advise and guide you along the way.
We recruit for engineers from junior level right through to associate, principal, director, and state director levels.
It’s rare that our clients ask us to recruit for graduate engineers, as they typically recruit these directly through graduate schemes and relationships directly with universities. That been said, we are always happy to provide advice, and you can find guides and tip sheets on our resource’s hub.
Yes, in fact, we have helped many engineers, at all levels, make the move from overseas, providing they have a valid visa (permanent residency or working holiday visa is most common). In some cases, we can assist those that need visa sponsorship before they relocate to Australia.
As a minimum, as a building services engineer, we would recommend striving towards attaining NER (National Engineering Registration) and/or CPEng (Chartership), as well as Class 2 Design Practitioner accreditation. FPAS (Fire Protection Engineers), C10 (Fire Safety Engineers), and GSAP, WELL, NABERS (Sustainability), are also highly recommended.
